Should My Website Have A Blog?
Simply put, “it depends.” Ideally, blogs can:
- Help drive traffic to your site
- Improve your SEO rankings
- Establish you and/or your company as an authority in your field
- Help build and/or nurture relationships with your target audience(s)
- Improve conversions
- Increase inbound links to your site
- Be transformed into social media posts
However… many people believe that they’ll experience all of these benefits just by including a blog on their sites. They’re wrong.
Rather, to do so, your blog should be updated with relevant, useful, and sought-after copy consistently and often – ideally, every 72 hours. If that’s not possible for your company, it’s still okay to include a blog, but don’t place it in your main menu and don’t expect much in the way of additional traffic, visibility, or conversions.
